The EstoBro TV Podcast

The Great Gaspy: Tom Brady Retires

99th Avenue Productions Episode 55

The show opens up to discuss the controversy surrounding Spotify and the popular program the Joe Rogan Experience (1:00). EstoBro and TV know that the podcast is one of the most popular domains on the planet and the recent news about Neil Young threatening to pull his music from the platform, followed by other artists, is only adding to the list of growing problems Joe Rogan continues to face. After the theme rolls, EstoBro shares the events of Gasparilla (13:15), a pirate festival that takes place in Tampa every January that happened for the first time since COVID-19 broke out. He continues to break down the history of the festival, the importance of pirate culture in Tampa, and how eventually the festival will build a bridged connection to the popular anime One Piece (21:15). Remaining focused on nerd news; EstoBro also reports Sony purchasing rights for Bungie in retaliation to Microsoft's big purchase, the beloved baseball game MLB The Show is debuting on a Nintendo platform featuring Shohei Ohtani as the cover athlete, and the long anticipation of Pokemon Legends: Arceus dropping last week (24:50). The debauchery of Gasparilla reminded everyone in Tampa of how Tom Brady acts out of pocket when he parties, unfortunately, it was not the same celebration that everyone was hoping for. Over the course of the weekend, the legendary quarterback retired (28:10), and the Gents have their fair takes about how ridiculous the claims were before Brady announced. EstoBro and TV move into discussing the Super Bowl matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals (34:45) and all the events that lead up to "big game" that will take place on February 13th. Finally, in the shadow of the MLB Lockout carrying on, TV asks about EstoBro's reaction about the results on who was elected to the Hall of Fame (48:35). Where they have their praises for David Ortiz being selected in his first eligible year, there are bigger issues with Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens not being selected in their final eligible year. The state of baseball is in a state of peril, and EstoBro has no optimism for the sport's future.
