Show Notes

EstoBro inquires Young Jaimé if he has started playing Pokémon yet on the Nintendo Switch, but his old compadre has been more hung up playing the Nintendo 64 emulator on the same device. The pair share frustration in regards to the show being recorded specifically on Pokémon Day with no announcement of a vintage Pokémon title for any emulator on the Nintendo Switch (2:45). It has been a while since Young Jaimé was on the podcast, and EstoBro enables a topic that his guest is passionate about with The Flash film trailer that was teased during the Super Bowl a few weeks back (13:35). With controversy alone with Ezra Miller in the starring role as the title comic book character, James Gunn being the head of the DC Comics Extended Universe stated that the "show must go on," in terms of using the film as a reset point for the universe. In terms of Warner Brothers owning the rights to DC Comics, EstoBro and Young Jaimé share their love for a vintage parody of a superhero from the 1990s with Freakazoid! (23:10). The Gents encourage the idea that the cartoon character could use a return to television with a remaster like sister show Animaniacs experienced on Hulu; further enabling the idea that the character should also receive his very own live-action film under Gunn. Young Jaimé also enables the idea with the podcast segment, 'Smash Injustice' to include the comic book character as rumors of Mortal Kombat 12 have been rumored to surface in recent weeks (30:30). EstoBro truly believes that hit characters from the fighter franchise should've received the Smash invitation; alongside Doom Guy, Shaggy Rogers, and Bugs Bunny is featured as well, and vice versa to future DLC characters that could be featured in Mortal Kombat 12. The sports segment feature of the week has a great deal of focus on the international event which is the World Baseball Classic. EstoBro has been making this major pitch to Young Jaimé for years since he met him, especially encouraging a soccer fan that this baseball tournament is on its way to being at the same level as the FIFA World Cup (35:40). EstoBro educates the listening audience of the creation of the tournament since 2006, it's long tracked history so far, and how much it has grown with different nations all over the globe. The United States is the birth of baseball, plus defending champions of the last World Baseball Classic held in 2017; needless to say, the Americans will do everything possible to "keep it home," rather than any country taking the title for themselves (41:55). EstoBro being more than excited with the tournament getting started soon, he also gives a small preview of the countries participating and playing baseball for this international trophy. Young Jaimé acknowledges the 'Who has the munchies?' segment (60:55) with what international food should be enjoyed at the World Baseball Classic. EstoBro also points out how much Young Jaimé has been on StadiumTok on TikTok which has also contributed to making a baseball fan out of his guest. Tune into the World Baseball Classic this week and witness the best international display of baseball at an extremely competitive level.
