Show Notes

The best part about this show is the times when EstoBro enables TV to talk about sports on the podcast. The show opens up with the Gents' admiration for the latest HBO series Winning Time: the Rise of the Lakers Dynasty which debuted earlier in March. The pair talk about how influential the "Showtime Lakers" were for basketball and how their takeover changed the NBA for future greatness. Post the salutations, EstoBro puts the TV on the spot if he has seen The Batman yet (12:50), and the two are surprised how the film has not been spoiled for them yet. Disappointing to announce that E3 will be canceled for the third year in a row (20:40), despite major events resuming in a post-COVID world. The Gents question if the video game expo has seen its final days, as other major conventions like Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) could replace it. Other major cancellations of events are a topic, with EstoBro sad to announce the news for Thunder Beats Music Festival (30:35), which was mentioned in prior episodes that it would have been an inaugural festival in Pensacola, FL; and why the festival is not taking place this April. The major focus of a sports episode takes over by reflecting the results of March Madness (38:00) with Kansas defeating North Carolina and Coach Mike Krzyzewski finally retiring. Redemption arcs are always a great highlight on this podcast, especially when it comes to sports. EstoBro mentioned three major redemption arcs with the announcement of Tiger Woods playing in the Masters' golf tournament (40:00). Followed by the announcement that the Unites States' national men's soccer team is returning to the World Cup this winter in Qatar (50:00). Finally, the last major story in redemption is Stone Cold Steve Austin returning to the ring at the biggest stage of them all: Wrestlemania (55:50). The Gents loved the effort by Austin 3:16, but they can only assume that this is a desperate cry for ratings that WWE obviously needs. The time of year that EstoBro has been waiting for again, which happens to be baseball season (63:45), as he goes into detail with Opening Day starting this weekend and makes his season predictions on who will do well and be in the playoffs at the very end. With baseball season starting up, the Gents can only expect ratings for the show to drop with EstoBro planning to complain about MLB more...time will tell.
